ALCOHOL AND DRUGS POLICY

1. BEING PRESENT IN THE WORKPLACE UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF DRUGS OR ALCOHOL:

It is unacceptable for company and sub-contractor employees, tanker drivers and visitors to be in the workplace under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

DRUG USE, POSSESSION AND SALE:

It is forbidden to use, hold, distribute or sell all kinds of drugs at any place of company or during any company work.

3. INDIVIDUAL ALCOHOL AND DRUG CONTROLS:

The individual illegal drug and alcohol control can be made in the company’s workplace by obtaining consent of concerned person upon strong doubt and demand of department manager. This control exactly depends on obtaining the consent of employee.

4. SANCTION OF DRIVING VEHICLE UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL:

The disciplinary punishment will be inflicted by company to company staff, who may be subjected to any alcohol test by police and whose alcohol level is determined to be above the legally acceptable limit (alcohol in the blood above 500 ppm). It is forbidden for professional driver staffs of company and sub-contractor to drive a vehicle under the influence of alcohol. ‘’Being under the influence of alcohol’’ will be evaluated within the criteria of Traffic Law.

5. CRITERIA TO BE TAKEN AS BASIS FOR SUBJECTING SPECIFIC PERSONS TO TEST:

The company reserves right to subject any company staff who fulfills any of below-mentioned criteria, to an alcohol or drugs test and psychological tests.

• Working in a critical position related to security, safety or environment,
• Working in a manager position,
• Working a position for which the laws stipulate an alcohol or drugs test,
• Having a prior addiction problem,
In all these cases, the employee is obliged to grant consent to test.

In case the test result is positive, the staff is encouraged to undergo an addiction therapy. The ones who are convinced to undergo a therapy, are taken from their positins and appointed to another position temporarily provided that they will be appointed to their positions again after the therapy results in positive, or they are regarded as on paid leave throughout therapy. This leave is not offset to annual paid leave.

6. DISCIPLINARY PUNISHMENT:

The disciplinary punishments varying between written warning to dismissal depending on the severity of situation are inflicted to ones who come to workplace under the influence of alcohol or drug and drive a vehicle in this situation although they are encouraged to undergo therapy after they have been determined as alcohol or drug addicted at the end of examinations made.

7. ASSESSMENT OF TEST AND THERAPY RESULTS:

7.1. The test and therapy results made by obtaining the consent of staff will be determined only by attending physician and their results will be notified to Department Manager and General Director.
7.2. Making test related to alcohol and drugs, test results, diagnosis and therapy processes shall be kept confidential and not disclosed to 3rd parties other than persons stated above in Clause 7.1.
